It’s a busy week ahead for many people with Thanksgiving next Thursday and before you know it, it will be full steam ahead towards Christmas. Here are a few ideas for the next couple of weeks in and around Zurich:
The Schoggi Tram Saturday 17th November
No need for translation here – the Schoggi Tram is the “Chocolate Tram” which has been doing a special run this week in Zurich. Sadly, Saturday 17th is the last day when the chocolate tram from Confiserie Honold wends its way through the city.
For just CHF 5 you get a hot chocolate, a piece of Almond Cake and a praline! You can buy your ticket at Bellevue stop or at Rennweg as you alight (no pre-booking). The chocolate tram runs from Bellevue at 13:30 / 14:00 / 14:30 / 15:00 / 15:30 / 16:00 (and in the other direction 15 minutes later) limited capacity. Enjoy!
The First International Arabic Film Festival in Zurich 16th – 25th November
After the Zurich International Film Festival in October, now for the first time, Zurich plays host to the International Arabic Film Festival. The festival is running for 10 days from the 16th November till the 25th November. The films are running at the Filmpodium. For more information, the programme and to buy tickets.
Now is the time of year that all the circuses come to town:
Salto Natale Circus is in Zurich from 21st November to 2nd January. The venue is at Zurich Kloten. For further information.
Conelli Circus is in the centre of town at Bauschänzli from 22nd November to 6th January For further information.
The Singing Christmas Tree in Werdmühleplatz just off Bahnhofstrasse is an institution in Zurich and if you haven’t seen it before then don’t miss it this year. Christmas carols are sung by children all lined up in the formation of a Christmas Tree. Why not go along and watch with a warming glass of Gluhwein! From 24th November to 23rd December For more information.
